HOB Summer Update...

Classes for our 2023-2024 school year will begin in less than 6 weeks.  That’s hard to imagine since it was just last month that classes wrapped up.  What an incredible first year we had with our brand new school, Christian Education Center of Bachiniva (CECB).  It definitely exceeded our initial expectations.  Actually, i’m not really sure what we expected exactly since it was our first year and we had never done anything like this before.  No doubt it was full of highs and lows, challenges, difficulties and lots of learning.  But overall, it was a blessed year and God was very gracious to us.

What a blessing it was to see the lives of our 54 students (kinder-jr high) impacted and changed.  The stories we heard from parents, family members and the local community were incredibly encouraging and a further confirmation that this is the direction God wanted us to move in.

We had open enrollment this past May for the upcoming school year and were absolutely amazed to see over 85 students enrolled, and the number keeps growing.

This was a huge step of faith for us, logistically as well as financially.  But we saw God provide, as He ALWAYS does, in tremendous and incredible ways.  We were able to keep the tuition for our students at just $50 a month because of all your generous financial support.  On behalf of our school board, staff, teachers, students and families, THANK YOU.  Thank you to those who have come down and will come down this year on a mission trip to help serve, build and bless.  Thank you for those who have fervently prayed for us.  Thank you to those who have supported financially.  Thank you to those who have sent emails, texts and kind words.

Please continue to pray for us as the need is even greater.  With 85+ students enrolled and starting a high school, we are in need of more teachers, vans for transportation, our building project to be finished and lots of supplies.

We are focusing on 3 areas right now that are our biggest need.

  1. SPONSORSHIP - We are looking for individuals, families or churches that might want to sponsor a students monthly tuition. Please let me know if you are interested in more information and I can get you all the details or you can check them out on our website www.thehouseofblessing.org/sponsorship.

  2. BUILDING PROJECT - Because of the number of students and our enrollment growing, we are in need of more classrooms.  We have started a new building project for our jr. high students and are hoping it will be finished by September. Please let me know if you are interested in donating to this project.

  1. GOLF TOURNAMENT - We are VERY EXCITED to our House of Blessing Golf Tournaments coming up this fall. Once again we will be having a tournament in WA and FL to raise funds for the school. Last year we were able to donate over $21,000 to the school. We are hoping for more this year as the need is evern greater. Please check out our golf website for ways to get involved, www.hobgolf.org.

Día del Niño...

First of all, I wanted to start this much needed update with a HUGE thank you.  Each and everyone one of you who take the time to read our updates, comment on a social media post, pray for us, visit us, financially support us, are a tremendous blessing.  You who have walked this journey and adventure with us all for the past 10 years these have hopefully witnessed the incredible things that God continues to do through House of Blessing in Mexico.

This month, marks a year, since the school went from thoughts, dreams and a lot of prayers, to full fruition. April 2022 is when we hosted our interest meeting, thinking maybe 15-18 kids might enroll in our new school.  WOW were we wrong, and God definitely had something else planned.  Since September our wonderful staff and team of 12 have had the incredible privilege of teaching and ministering to 54 students (kinder-jr. high).

This week is extra special as we are celebrating Dia del Niño (Children’s Day) this week.  Each day has special activities planned.  Monday was superhero day.  How exciting it was to see all the kids come dressed up.  On Tuesday, we are hosting our Kids Fair at the school.  It will be a day full of games, food, music, bounce house, mechanical bull, the eliminator (not sure yet what that is exactly), candy, coffee shop drinks and much more.  Our students (kinder-6th grade), their families, as well as other families in the community will be joining us.  We would love to have you pray for our special event.  It will be from 10:00-2:00 PM.

Thank you again and i’m excited to share pictures and videos from our week. Here are a few pictures of of kiddos dressing up. Yes, that is my lovely wife Jackie in the Mario Costume. She won best dressed for the teachers and happend to also be the only teacher that dressed up. Her kindergarten class absolutely loved it!

#GivingThanks

This morning my wife Jackie was listening to her favorite news podcast, the News Worthy.  It’s a short daily podcast with a catchy phrase, “news made fast, fair, fun.” One of the updates that caught my attention was about Giving Tuesday.  Giving Tuesday is an initiative that started in 2012 that has gained massive momentum.  It is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving that is touted as a "global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world."  People are encouraged to not only give financially, but also of their time or talents or resources, etc.

Today was a busy day at our new school.  I gave 4 music classes for our 4th-9th graders.  The students are busy preparing for their Christmas Posada (Program).  As I walked the property throughout the day and saw children and teachers all over the place, I was struck with something amazing and humbling.

I cannot believe that this place was once an abandoned, dried up apple orchard.  And now, it is home to an ever growing and beautiful campus.  For the past 10 years, so many churches, businesses, schools, families, individuals, and more have given so generously, beyond anything I could have imagined.  So many of you have given generously of your finances.  You have given of your time in coming down with mission teams and just to visit.  You have given of your talents and abilities.  You have given your prayers, encouragement, kind words.  It is a bit overwhelming to think of all that God has done through each of you.

So, on this #GivingTuesday, we wanted to Give Thanks, to each and every one of you.  And especially to our Creator who has blessed us and House of Blessing beyond measure over the past 10 years.  We are so excited to see all the things that He will do over the next 10 years and we are especially thankful to be able to walk this journey with you.

Thank you so very much!

Jason
